Harris Running Mate Teases His Own Project 2025: Socialism - WSJ

The history of the last century says that there is nothing more dangerous than ruthless politicians who try to paint a friendly face on socialism. And of course one can see the real-time horror today in Venezuela. The selection of Mr. Walz is bound to reignite the debate on whether Kamala Harris has managed to get to the left of Bernie Sanders.

Tim Walz’s Minnesota imposes high tax burdens on individual income, corporate income, sales and property. Spending has surged during his governorship.

Another strange aspect of this pick is that even in Minnesota, traditionally the furthest left politically among Midwest states, Mr. Walz is not overwhelmingly popular and received a slightly smaller percentage of the vote during his 2022 re-election—52%—than he did in 2018, when he won with nearly 54%.

Years of hard experience have turned off Minnesota moderates. Voters nationwide now have limited time to study Mr. Walz and understand the threat to American prosperity he represents.

Kamala Harris has no excuse for this pick. She remains as radical as her record.
