DeSantis calls Russia-Ukraine war a ‘territorial dispute,’ questions US involvement | The Hill
“While the U.S. has many vital national interests — securing our borders, addressing the crisis of readiness within our military, achieving energy security and independence, and checking the economic, cultural, and military power of the Chinese Communist Party — becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them,” DeSantis said in response to a questionnaire on Ukraine sent out to possible 2024 presidential candidates by Fox News’s Tucker Carlson.
“The Biden administration’s virtual ‘blank check’ funding of this conflict for ‘as long as it takes,’ without any defined objectives or accountability, distracts from our country’s most pressing challenges,” the Florida governor said.

This is not good. It is in our national interest to defend Ukraine, because the rest of Eastern Europe is next up in Putin's plans. And we also aren't going to sit back while Putin goes forward with genocide in Ukraine. At least I hope not.

How is it in America's 'national' interest? It's perhaps in the EU's interest. It's certainly in Poland's interest. But the USA is really quite far away from Ukraine.
America seems perfectly content for genocide to happen in Western China. Is the US nonetheless going to get everyone in the West killed trying to stop that? Do you think we're up for another American-led misadventure.
Ukraine is a territorial dispute. The Russians want the Donbas. They want America, moreover, to stay away from them. America would never tolerate a Chinese military presence in Canada or Mexico, so why should the Russians tolerate the same?
Enough of this. You are being misled by America's elite in a foolhardy, suicidal effort to maintain global hegemony to lead us all to WW3 and so to doom. If you really want a war and feel the urge to kill millions, there are plenty of liberals and progressives in the USA you can eliminate.

Like many of the members of our generation, you are stuck assuming that this Russia-Ukraine conflict mirrors the beginning of WWII. WWI is a better analog for what's going there.
