Biden’s ‘Infrastructure’ Bill Contains Backdoor ‘Kill Switch’ For Cars | The Daily Caller

Everything about this mandatory measure should set off red flares.

First, use of the word “passively” suggests the system will always be on and constantly monitoring the vehicle. Secondly, the system must connect to the vehicle’s operational controls, so as to disable the vehicle either before driving or during, when impairment is detected. Thirdly, it will be an “open” system, or at least one with a backdoor, meaning authorized (or unauthorized) third-parties can remotely access the system’s data at any time.

This is a privacy disaster in the making, and the fact that the provision made it through the Congress reveals — yet again — how little its members care about the privacy of their constituents.

Cars will be like washers and driers -- you'll just have to try to keep the old ones running as long as possible so you don't have to use the new ones with all the regulatory grift and monitoring that comes with them.

The longest we've kept a car was 19 years. Our current one is at 16 years. We did once have a Toyota that might have beaten those two but it was stolen. Popular opinion was adamant: "it was the Pikeys" (i.e. Gypsies).

But it differed about the final destination: it'll be in Ireland now, it'll be in North Cyprus now, it'll be in North Africa now, it'll be in Russia now. So you can't accuse vox pop of racism.
