Self-driving cars will exacerbate organ shortages.

They will also change the way we die. As technology takes the wheel, road deaths due to driver error will begin to diminish. It’s a transformative advancement, but one that comes with consequences in an unexpected place: organ donation.

Guns don't kill people, and neither do driverless cars.

Skeptical Climate Scientists Coming In From the Cold | RealClearInvestigations

Researchers who see global warming as something less than a planet-ending calamity believe the incoming Trump administration may allow their views to be developed and heard. This didn’t happen under the Obama administration, which denied that a debate even existed. Now, some scientists say, a more inclusive approach – and the billions of federal dollars that might support it – could be in the offing.

Russian Political Class Responds in Outrage to Obama Over Sanctions | Observer

The silent, months-long contempt expressed by the Russian political class toward the departing White House Administration was suddenly interrupted on Thursday by U.S. President Barack Obama’s announcement of a new set of anti-Russian sanctions.

In Russian media, in the political class and among government officials, the reaction in Moscow was fierce, vocal and pugnacious.

Obama settling old grudges — but not against Russian, Israeli leaders | TheHill

Is President Obama using his final weeks in office to settle personal grudges against Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu? Obama certainly appears to be settling scores, slamming Russia for trying to meddle in the U.S. election, and abandoning Israel to the untender mercies of the United Nations Security Council.

But if you look past the administration narratives, Obama’s record suggests his animus has less to do with savaging Putin and Netanyahu than with sticking a thumb in the eye of the American electorate and its chosen winner

It seems like it's both. Obama really does hate Israel and Putin.

Steve Martin, This Is a Bad Tribute to Carrie Fisher

But that characterization of Leia — as a wet dream for prepubescent men — is something Fisher spoke out against her whole career. She addressed Leia’s role as a sex object in a 1983 interview with Rolling Stone. “Let’s not forget that these movies are basically boys’ fantasies,” she said. “So the other way they made her more female in this one was to have her take off her clothes.”

I'm sure she was beautiful in person, but I never got her as a sex symbol, even in whichever one it was that had her chained up by Jabba the Hut. But I was in college when the first one came out.

Security Council Settlements Resolution: Shameful Betrayal by Obama | National Review

Moreover, the resolution undermines the very foundation of a half century of American Middle East policy. What becomes of “land for peace” if the territories Israel was to have traded for peace are, in advance, declared to be Palestinian land to which Israel has no claim?

The Death of Clintonism - POLITICO Magazine

By all accounts, Bill and Hillary Clinton never had any such qualms, and now their quarter-century project to build a mutual buy-one, get-one-free Clinton dynasty has ended in her defeat, and their joint departure from the center of the national political stage they had hoped to occupy for another eight years. Their exit amounts to a finale not just for themselves, but for Clintonism as a working political ideology and electoral strategy.

I don't know. They said communism was dead too.
