Candy Crush injury suggests gaming is great for pain | UTSanDiego.com

A Pacific Beach resident and former Navy man played a cellphone game called Candy Crush so relentlessly that he tore a tendon in his thumb.

Although the injury sounds painful, he said he didn’t notice it – even though it took six to eight weeks to develop.

Naval Medical Center San Diego researchers hypothesize it was the video game itself, acting as a digital painkiller, that took the pain away.
