The Daily Caller » Don’t cry for me, John Boehner » Print

Moreover, this is all supposed to come courtesy of the same Republicans who won’t defund the National Endowment for the Arts because they don’t want to get an angry letter from some frustrated symphony-goer in Des Moines.

Did Taxes Cause the Financial Crisis? by Mark Roe - Project Syndicate

All of this is true, but, given the possibility of a major overhaul of US corporate taxation, which President Barack Obama has proposed, we should revisit the conventional wisdom concerning the supposedly weak connection between corporate taxation and the financial crisis. Indeed, in my view, policymakers, academics, and the media have rejected too resolutely the idea that corporate taxation played no more than a minor role.

If Hillary wins in 2016 ....

Our country is supposed to be a republic not a monarchy, but do you realize that if Hilary gets elected in 2016 -- which seems increasingly plausible -- by 2020 we'll have been governed by Bushes and Clintons for 24 of the last 32 years? If she gets reelected in 2020, when I'll be 62, Bushes or Clintons will have been POTUS for 45% of my life or 64% of my adult life! And, in the interests of bipartisanship, let me just say that I can't imagine two worse families for the honor. (Well, obviously, I can, but not among the plausible set.)

I don't really understand Obamacare

Now there's this.  Just what is going on here? I'm married to a physician, and she certainly doesn't understand what's going on. She's too busy trying to get her electronic medical records program to work on our home computer and "doing tasks." Don't ask. I'm just counting on our being able to keep our coverage through her employer.  But anyway, this sounds bad, or maybe good if you want to see the whole thing come crashing down.
