Distinguished conservative scholar gets attacked for being dean candidate
Tom Smith
Sort of a dog pack attacks man story. Brad Smith (no relation) has had more influence on democracy in the US than most 100 law professors put together (and for the good, rather than for the bad, as the 100 would probably have been -- I'm thinking a scalar measure here). The US Supreme Court pretty much endorsed his scholarship in striking down large chunks of campaign finance regulation. In a fairer world, he would have a chair at some big name school. But who wants a fairer world? Probably the GOP should win the WH and Senate and then Professor Smith could be made an appeals court judge somewhere. Then his liberal colleagues could write articles excoriating his opinions. Win-win.

Great post. It appears that most of the steps are relying on the creativeness factor….

But it's interesting that Ron Allen champions democracy and did consulting for China isn't it?
