David Brooks does David Brooks
Tom Smith

Everybody, please try to be as fair and above the fray as David is.  It will make you a better person.  Not as good as David is, but far better than you are.

And please allow yourself to be enlightened by Herr Doktor Professor Krugman.  There are many lies being told about ObamaCare and you musn't believe them.  Believe instead somebody as careful with the facts as the good professor.

I think you are too quick to take the Brooks phenomenon lightly. It is a paradigm of what happens to conservatives in newspapers, law schools, and other liberal environments: they "go native" and allow their institutional loyalty to trump their common sense. I think this is a major reason that conservatives are not more effective nationally, in both the academic and the political worlds.

I agree with you. I am just making fun of Brooks. He has gone completely native, except I doubt he was ever really one of us.

Assuming the camera is being held by a person and judging by the size of things in the background, I think it might be safe to say that the hatch is about one body-length above the ground.
