I love the precision of "... born at Kilpatrick, near Dumbarton, in Scotland". Fallible historians tend to opine that we was from somewhere in Western Britain.

Who are the Irish? My daughter's school, in a small town over ten miles outside Cork City, has 54 students from 15 different countries. Are we all Irish? The warrior stuff by the way is false. Back in 2004, the inept health minister (and if Obamacare passes, you will learn there is no other kind) pushed through a ban on smoking in pubs, and the Irish fell into line like sheep.
