Homophobia is gay
Tom Smith

This is interesting.  Explicit homophobia seems now to be just unacceptable with the hard core right CPAC.

Can we stop using this word? I know what it means colloquially, but it's too often used as a rhetorical bludgeon to control people who have non-PC views.

Interesting, Jonathan. Political correctness for the latest victimized group -- those with non-PC views?

Can one still disagree with the idea of homosexuality as a good or positive thing, and not be deemed "homophobic"?

Theer are people who hold sincere beliefs (generally relious based) that it is not a positive thing, although not being actively anti-homosexual (call it "live and let live, but don't affirm or promote"). Are those people "homophobes"?

Homophobia is a range of negative attitudes and feelings towards homosexuality and people identified or perceived as being homosexual. Definitions refer variably to antipathy, contempt, prejudice, aversion, and irrational fear. Homophobia is observable in critical and hostile behavior such as discrimination and violence on the basis of a non-heterosexual orientation. In a 1998 address, author, activist, and civil rights leader Coretta Scott King stated that "Homophobia is like racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in that it seeks to dehumanize a large group of people, to deny their humanity, their dignity and personhood.

I found out from Mom that you can see the search words on Google that people use to lead them to this blog. She tried to hide some of the words from me, but there they were: "Ugly, fat, cat." And those heartless words, typed into Google Images, directed them to my pictures in my flowered hat. That's way harsh, man. Hissssss! A pox on your house! I like my flowered hat and think I look rather fetching in it. And the other cats displayed under those scurrilous words were pretty too.
