The Center for the Study of Constitutional Originalism at the University of San Diego is holding a conference this weekend. Its a memorial conference for Bernard Siegan, our beloved colleague, on Economic Liberties, Property Rights, and the Original Meaning of the Constitution. It will include some of the leading scholars on the subject, including Eric Claeys, James Ely, Richard Epstein, Nicole Garnett, John Harrison, John Hart, William Treanor, Keith Whittington, Todd Zywicki as well as several members of the Center at San Diego.
The Center for the Study of Constitutional Originalism was started last year, and grows out of the relatively large number of scholars at San Diego who are either originalists or who are interested in the subject. The center members are Lawrence A. Alexander, Laurence P. Claus, Donald A. Dripps, Saikrishna B. Prakash, Michael D. Ramsey, Michael B. Rappaport, and Steven D. Smith.
