Hmmm: Judge allows US specialist to examine Charlie Gard - Hot Air Hot Air

Has the court in the Charlie Gard case signaled a new openness to treatment? Judge Nicholas Francis has now decided to have the US specialist who has volunteered to treat the baby come to the UK to examine him. Dr. Michio Hirono will be joined by a doctor from the Vatican hospital that has also volunteered to care for Gard rather than have him removed from the ventilator that is allowing the baby to breathe:

Well, I hope otherwise, but the baby is probably brain-dead by now or the next nearest thing. I say this as the lawfully married husband of a medical professional who is too busy to have even heard of this story.

"the ventilator that is allowing the baby to breathe": that's not what a ventilator does, is it? The case is quite sad enough without adding subtle little lies into an account of it.
