Punditry did not cover itself in glory in the closing days of election 2012. For the seventh race in a row, Republicans nominated somebody conspicuously not associated with the right wing of the party, infuriating liberals who saw their theory of the election and the count confounded. They went unsubtly about trying to make the world fit their worldview.

Speaking of going "unsubtly about trying to make the world fit their worldview," don't forget to take a gander at the numerous posts (including but by no means limited to those in TRC) attacking the liberal bias of the pollsters and saying that Romney would be No. 45. Jeff Greenfield's words today:
"Finally, let me end with a concession. I plan to spend this day searching the websites of all of those who so confidently asserted why and how Obama was destined to lose. I’m particularly eager to read the wisdom of Dick Morris, the most consistently, hilariously ignorant pollster/strategist, who wrote just a few days ago 'Here Comes the Landslide.” His continued employment is an inspiration to all those who believe that a career should in no way be limited by a total lack of competence.
