According to the article, the shooter had initially told the police that the victim had made some sort of threat about "rape" and "murder," but that the threat story somehow just went away, presumably to be replaced by a tale of prescription medication.
Recklessly discharging a firearm is bad enough; falsely accusing someone of major crimes is much worse. The victim is lucky she did not kill him and plant a "dropper" on him.
