This seems uncivil to me. It goes downhill from here. It's enough to make you wonder if the whole Manhattan society journalist scene is full of not very nice people. On the upside, there aren't any retard jokes.

As a man said, government is not reason, it is not eloquence-it is force. It is not civil to force a man to contribute to innumerable causes which experience tells him are evil, and send armed men to arrest him when he will not.
