Oh. my. goodness. You have to read this. I really can't do it justice. This whole global inter-web thing makes getting away with stuff so much more complicated. Still, as befits a skeptic, I am skeptical scientists are so stupid they would do anything this likely to be exposed. But we shall see . . .
When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at Hadley CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:
Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.

Are politicians using global warming and climate change science as an excuse for regulation?
Although I believe the science for climate change is true, I believe that

Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather over periods of time that range from decades to millions of years. It can be a change in the average weather or a change in the distribution of weather events around an average (for example, greater or fewer extreme weather events). Climate change may be limited to a specific region, or may occur across the whole Earth.
