I have never heard of any of these people. I have never seen any of these shows. I have inferred that vampires are popular these days, but I really don't see why that's important. I am almost certainly not going to watch any TV show about vampires. I much prefer serial killers. Sometimes I feel alienated from my popular culture. It generates huge amounts of money and attention catering to extremely silly whims and desires. Weird.
Professor, I'm writing a book about serial killers in a world with vampires. Would this help bridge your disconnect with our popular culture?

I figure pop culture is like high school -- it's not very good, oriented toward teenagers, and you're better off once you've outgrown it.
