Whatever one thinks about President Obama's release of the OLC Memos on coercive interrogations, there is something funny about it. After 8 years of the CIA leaking material to the press as a means of attacking the presidency, now the President has returned the favor -- and released information to the public that undermines the agency.
Of course, this statement is only true at the institutional level. The President who was attacked was George Bush, not Barack Obama. And my guess is that the CIA leakers were different people than those who conducted the coercive interrogations. Still, the irony at the institutional level is worth mentioning.
