The most disheartening thing about this is the comment section to the linked article, to the extent I could bring myself to read them. I got through about a page, and they're about 95% of the "screw you, dude, you got what you deserved" variety. Nobody seems to appreciate that, if it is so essential to our nation's economoc well-being that AIG work out its complex financial problems (and that's presumably why we gave 'em $165 billion), AIG needs employees who know HOW to work out its complex financial problems. Or maybe they do appreciate it, and just think you can hire those kinds of employees for fifty thousand a year.
