Martin Feldstein weighs in on the "stimulus" package. About time, too. If I heard one more pundit claim MF's support for the stimulus, I would have thrown my drink at the TV. And I can't really afford to replace it at the moment.

It would be nice if Mr. Summers would listen (or had the political capital to do so) to his former (and future) colleague on this. This is an entirely reasonable, non-obstructionist position to take. A little late, but perhaps better late than never.

The drink or the TV? The impression I got in class was that you enjoyed the truly fine Scotch :)

Help! In a non life-or-death sense.
The MSM is trying to make this seem like the worst crisis since 1929 by calling it as the AP did the "worst 'downturn' since the Great Depression. They are trying to wash that it is the worst since 1982 because they do not want to make Reagan's tax cut policies seem effective but rather FDR's (inadequate before WW II) spending.
You folks are the famous academics and I'm a poor philosopher. Someone has to step up and remind everyone of the 1982 solution that worked for 26 years! That should be all I'm hearing from the Right and I have not heard it once.
Get to work .... please. Spread the word excellent network of men and women who deserve the platform you have.
