Is it too late for me to become a progressive? I'm progressive. What is a progressive anyway? Maybe I have been a progressive for years and just not known it? If it has to do with human dignity, as I have heard, I certainly think I could comport myself with more dignity if I had one of those jobs for the government where I was well paid and don't have to work. I know, I know, you say I already have such a job. My point is, I would like another such job. And professors do do some work, whatever you may think. I would promise to be extremely dignified and to treat everybody around me as if they were very dignified too. For example, I would get rid of my frayed Hawaiian shirts and buy some new ones from Brooks Brothers, or if that's too conservative, whatever progressive clothier is currently in fashion. I am willing to work with you on this.
