Well she can't be deported now. She could end up getting kidnapped by terrorists or something. It does raise a new question -- what do you do when the close relatives of the President live overseas in unstable third world countries? Doesn't that present a bit of a security issue? It may be an issue we face increasingly in the future.

If he's not concerned about her now, why would he be concerned about her later?

It's only a blackmail issue if the President in question cares a whit about the relatives. All politicians are narcissistic to some extent, but Obama's in a class by himself as a narcissist -- which is a delightfully circular concept, isn't it?
He's shown no sign of caring for his Kenyan relations as human beings, only as symbols of his great (and phony) African authenticity. He (or more likely Axelrod, the brains of this operation) has managed to order them to keep silent till the election without giving them a dime. I believe his gross income was $4 million last year, and his half-brother squats in a shack on an income of $1 a month.
Also -- how sweet that it took a British paper to find Auntie at this late date. There are two dailies in the town where she lives, one is out of its mind on a hopium overdose, and the other would have run this story but is low on resources and just flat missed it.
