Joe does not have a license to practice plumbing in Toledo, Ohio. Possibly he does not need one, there being plumbing outside of Toledo, but it is highly suspicious. Is he really even a plumber? He has some tax liens. And read his comments quoted in the New York Times. Clearly he is a racist too. Thank goodness for the New York Times, tracking down the news, wherever it leads them.

The #2 story on NPR at 7:00 am was More Facts Come to Light Regarding Joe the Plumber. Curious listeners now know that Joe isn't licensed as a plumber (in a state that doesn't require plumbers to be licensed, not mentioned), doesn't make nearly $250,000 a year, and so would be helped by BO's tax plan hurrah!, owes back taxes, and has a lien against his home. The NPR "news" story never even hints at the actual reason why this is a story in the first place, i.e. BO explicitly endorsing "spreading the wealth." No, the only apparent reason for airing this information is to put Joe in his place, while dropping as many pro-BO anecdotes as possible. I try not to get too worked up about this stuff, honestly, but this is an outrage. Where does NPR, and the similarly slanted Good Morning America interview with Joe, get off with ridiculing a citizen who is essentially doing the media's job for them by exposing a major problem with the otherwise opaque BO.
Facts not present, that might have actually justified such a story, were that he was somehow affiliated with the Republican party, this was all a staged question etc. That is, despite what must have been a Herculean effort on the part of every news organization on the planet, no credible critique of Joe, and his question that tore the mask off the anointed one if only for a moment, has been found. Of course this would still ignore the point that the story is BO's response, not the question or the questioner.

For Pete's sake...FOX said last night that Joe is studying for the plumbing contractor's exam. Also, I am pretty sure *Joe* never said he was a plumber; he said he wanted to buy a plumbing company he worked for. And then Obama walked into his front yard one weekend morning, and his life is under the microscope.

Just to be clear, this post is sarcastic. I share the view that it is absurd to attack this guy. On the bright side, all this publicity is sure to help his business. At least I hope so.
