Somebody, of course, had to be the one to say this, and a religious blogger for the Washington Post has jumped into the breach, angels fearing to tread there, I am sure. More precisely, we are informed:
Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman. The Republican party's cynical calculation that because she has a womb and makes lots and lots of babies (and drives them to school! wow!) she speaks for the women of America, and will capture their hearts and their votes, has driven thousands of real women to take to their computers in outrage. She does not speak for women; she has no sympathy for the problems of other women, particularly working class women. [emphasis added.]
So if Sarah's not a real woman, what is she? A polar bear in disguise? A manwo? A Republi-babe? A cruise missile heading for the temple of Obamacles? An arctic Athena! (I like that one.) A vetoin' vixen? A maverick mama? This is fun, but I've got to move on. Governing goddess! OK, that's enough.
It's not entirely clear who qualifies as a real woman under the Professor's definition. But of one thing I am absolutely sure. If there was a room full of real women, as defined by the Professor, I would not want to go in there. I've been in rooms like that, and it's a mistake. Trust me on this.

she has no sympathy for the problems of other women, particularly working class women.
Oh good. Being a working-class woman, indeed a working woman with time spent as a commercial fisher [try to keep long fingernails while hauling nets and keeping an eye on the Japanese and Russian trawlers] she obviously knows less about such women than someone who has never been anywhere outside the groves of academe.

The writer becomes unhinged because she believes that Palin would impose her religious views. Yet read how sensible Palin is in her response to a questionaire from the Anchorage Daily News:
"QUESTION: If Roe v. Wade were overturned and states could once again prohibit abortion, in your view, to what extent should abortion be prohibited in Alaska?
PALIN: Under this hypothetical scenario, it would not be up to the governor to unilaterally ban anything. It would be up to the people of Alaska to discuss and decide how we would like our society to reflect our values."

It continues to astonish me just how hateful these so called "tolerant" professors are. I don't know why I'm not used to it by now.

The woman's some sort of divinity professor. I wouldn't want to be in a room of people she considered Christians, either.

For liberals, only victims are real women. True even of Hillary, their ultimate woman. Sarah Palin is many things, none of them victim.

In my view she is far more woman than any of the women I have seen/heard asserting this "she isn't a real woman" BS.
