Mexican national set to die for Texas rape murder
Tom Smith
This case has a number of interesting aspects. My sympathies lie with the victims and the State of Texas on this one. As someone who lives 15 miles north of the Mexican border, and a city where the the police officials and sometimes their families are routinely gunned down by narcotrafficantes, the idea that the Mexican national should not be executed because it might endanger the rights of Americans in Mexico, strikes me as risible. What the American in trouble in Mexico needs is bundles of $100's, not whatever goodwill might be fostered by not executing a truly deserving rapist and killer. Without the former, the latter is insufficient, and with it, it is unnecessary.
